JCI accreditation: scope, holder and verification
Every "JCI-accredited hospital" statement on this site refers to the treating facility, Liv Hospital Ulus — not to StemCell Longevita, and not to the laboratory. This page explains the difference and how to check the accreditation yourself.
Who holds what
We state this explicitly because the most common misrepresentation in medical tourism is a coordination company implying that a partner hospital's accreditation belongs to it.
| Entity | Credential | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Liv Hospital Ulus | Joint Commission International accreditation | Hospital-wide patient safety, infection control, medication management, staffing and governance standards |
| ONKIM GMP laboratory | GMP certification + Ministry of Health production licences | Cell manufacturing, testing and batch release |
| StemCell Longevita | Coordination platform — holds no clinical accreditation of its own | Patient coordination, records handling, information |
What JCI accreditation covers
- International Patient Safety Goals — patient identification, effective communication, medication safety, surgical safety, infection control, fall risk.
- Access to care and continuity of care, including transfer and discharge processes.
- Assessment and care of patients, anaesthesia and surgical care, medication management.
- Governance, staff qualification and education, facility management and safety.
- On-site survey by international assessors, with re-accreditation on a defined cycle (typically every three years).
What it does not cover
- It does not evaluate, approve or endorse stem cell, exosome or any other specific therapy.
- It does not certify the manufacturing of cell products — that is GMP and national licensing.
- It does not transfer to companies that refer patients to an accredited hospital.
- It is not a permanent status: it lapses if not renewed, which is why current verification matters.
How to verify independently
- Search the organisation directly in the JCI accredited organisations directory — the register is maintained by JCI, not by us.
- Cross-check the facility name and city (Liv Hospital, Istanbul, Türkiye) rather than a group or brand name.
- Ask the hospital for the current accreditation certificate and its expiry date; our coordination team will request it on your behalf.
Frequently asked questions
Is StemCell Longevita itself JCI-accredited?
No. JCI accredits healthcare organisations such as hospitals. StemCell Longevita is a coordination platform; the accreditation belongs to the treating hospital.
Does JCI accreditation guarantee results?
No. It reduces avoidable process and safety risk. Clinical outcomes depend on the indication, disease stage and the biology of the therapy — and are never guaranteed.
Ask for the documentation
Our coordination team can share laboratory certificates, licence references and hospital accreditation details during your consultation, alongside a medical review of your own records.
