Ministry of Health licensing for advanced cell therapy
In Türkiye, cell-based therapies are governed by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health. Licensing — not marketing language — is what determines whether a laboratory may manufacture a cell product and whether a facility may administer it.
The licensing layers
| Licence / authorisation | Held by | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Production centre licence | Partner GMP laboratory | Manufacture of cell-based therapeutic products |
| Exosome production centre licence | Partner GMP laboratory | Manufacture of exosome preparations |
| Umbilical cord banking licence | Partner laboratory | Collection, processing and storage of cord tissue and blood |
| Cord blood study approval | Partner laboratory | Collection and processing for approved study purposes |
| Private hospital operating licence | Liv Hospital Ulus | Operation as a licensed medical facility |
| Physician licence and specialty registration | Treating physicians | Right to practise and to administer treatment |
What licensing does and does not mean
A licence authorises an activity under defined conditions and inspection. It is not a statement that a therapy is proven for a given disease, and it is not equivalent to a marketing authorisation for a medicinal product.
Where a therapy is offered under a research or individualised-treatment framework rather than as an approved product, we say so on the relevant treatment page instead of blurring the distinction.
Verifying before you travel
- Ask for the licence references of the manufacturing laboratory and the operating licence of the treating hospital.
- Ask for the name and specialty registration of the physician who will treat you.
- Ask what regulatory basis applies to your specific protocol. If the answer is vague, treat that as a warning sign — here or anywhere else.
- Read the credentials and quality page for our regulatory position as a coordination platform.
Ask for the documentation
Our coordination team can share laboratory certificates, licence references and hospital accreditation details during your consultation, alongside a medical review of your own records.
